This wooden ring is lined with the absolute highest grade Koa you will see. It has a gorgeous deep golden color and unbelievable curl. Koa is known for its "curl," and this is a CURLY piece. It is very difficult to capture in pictures. I was doing some research so that I could describe the effect. I will just quote from a top google result because I cannot improve on this description:
"Chatoyancy is a property that is usually attributed to certain gems, the cats eye effect or shimmer which gives a sense of depth in the gem. This property can also be used to describe some of the more dramatic pieces of curly, tigerstripe and fiddleback Koa. This figuring gives the wood a three dimensional quality; and depending on from what angle one views the wood, it can take on several completely different characters."*
It is a uniquely Hawaiian wood, and is one of the most prized natural products from the islands.
The inner portion of this ring is made of Cobalt - the most scratch resistant and shatterproof material I offer. Like titanium it is hypoallergenic and biocompatible. However, in many circumstances under which your Titanium ring might scratch, Cobalt will not. It is an alloy that is identical to Platinum in color, but it is an order of magnitude stronger. Cobalt offers nearly the scratch resistance of Tungsten Carbide, but unlike Tungsten, Cobalt will not shatter if dropped.
Sizing
Comfort fit.
I highly recommend going to a jewelry counter to determine your size, even if you already know your size. "Do it yourself" ring sizing methods (string, etc.) should absolutely not be trusted. Be sure to be measured using the width you plan to order.
NOTE ON WIDTH:
The minimum width for this style of ring is 4mm. The maximum is 8mm.
Recommended width is calculated in this way: Size 5 is 5mm wide. Width increases .5mm per full size above that.
These rings will have a 1mm Cobalt flank to either side of the wood.
So:
Size 5- 5mm - 3mm wood stripe
Size 7- 6mm - 4mm wood stripe
Size 9- 7mm - 5mm wood stripe
Size 10- 7.5mm - 5.5mm wood stripe
Size 11+- 8mm - 6mm wood stripe

Cobalt interior wood rings cannot be resized at all! Every ring is made to the exact size provided. An error in sizing will necessitate a completely new ring. Refunds and exchanges will not be possible.

Each ring is given multiple coats of a hybrid epoxy finish, which is completely water-proof and soap proof. This protective coating is sanded up to 12,000 grit for an unbelievable, glass-like finish.
